Reliving August

Grief is unforgiving. It is blind. It is not concerned with the lives it destroys in its wake. It is fluid and will seek out weaknesses in walls built by the strongest of souls; like water seeping through the cracks of an overburdened levy. Grief is not an emotion, but masks itself as many emotions. Much like fire, addiction, cancer and other hellish monsters that we mortals battle; grief is a treacherous living being:

It grows…

It consumes…

It lays to waste…

There is no hiding from its grip, you either survive it or you don’t.

Panel 1

My name is Laura Knapp. I am the survivor of a broken life. I hope you’ll come with me on my journey to mend a damaged soul. Along the way, maybe together, we can sort through the wreckage and find the distorted beauty of a new normal. I hope the content will touch you; some of it will break your heart and some of it will warm your soul. Isn’t that the way life is? I’m starting over and learning how to smile through the tears. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ll stay awhile…
